Host a Mini Party: Vision Boarding

Here’s to 2026: Big Visions, Bold Moves, and This Epic Party

Ah, the turn of the year — the moment when everyone shifts from “Where did the time go?” to “OK, 2026… let’s do this right.” Vision boarding is having a major comeback this year, but with a refresh: more intention, less perfection. In a world that moves fast, this is your chance to slow down, zoom out, and get crystal clear on who you’re becoming and where you’re headed.

Gather your people, grab the glue sticks, and create space for dreaming, designing, and aligning. Here’s how to host a vision boarding party that feels grounding, creative, and totally 2026 inspired.

To Prep

These are your vision-boarding essentials. If your personal craft stash is already giving “elementary school teacher energy,” amazing. If not — no worries, we’ve got a simple list for you and your guests.

Cardboard foundation

  • Save cardboard from recent packages — instant upcycle moment
  • Size: Anywhere from 8.5” x 11” to 22” x 28”
  • Optional: Poster board or foam board

Magazines, newspapers, catalogs, mailers

  • Grab your favorite brand catalogs (they always have inspiring visuals)
  • Truly: the more variety, the better

Glue stick, glue gun, and/or tape, Scissors and Markers

Optional, but very fun add-ons:

  • Glitter, stickers, scrapbook borders
  • Fun wrapping paper for a background layer
  • Washi tape for aesthetic borders

Ask Guests To Bring

  • Magazines or printed inspo
  • Scissors
  • Glue or tape

(Pro tip: create a small “community pile” in the center so everyone can trade visuals.)

To Explain

What’s the point of a vision board? Prepare to leave inspired, aligned, and ready to take on your 2026 era.

Define: Vision Board [ˈviZHən bôrd] (noun)
A visual expression of your intentions, goals, and dreams — curated on a flat board you’ll see throughout the year.

Vision boards work by helping you clarify your priorities, then keeping them in your line of sight every day. Whether you walk past it or sit with it intentionally, your subconscious begins to reinforce what you’re aiming for.

  • Taps into the Law of Attraction
  • Encourages daily visual reminders
  • Creates space to reflect on what truly lights you up

Place your finished board somewhere you’ll see it often.
The magic is in the repetition.

To Inspire

Use these questions to get the energy flowing:

  • Where do you see this year going?
  • What are your goals for 2026?
  • How are you working toward them?
  • When do you feel most authentically yourself?
  • What inspires you?
  • What makes you feel grounded and whole?
  • What challenges are you actively working to overcome?

To Guide

A few hosting tips to make the night feel intentional and connective:

  • Keep the group small for comfort and deeper sharing
  • Invite people who will appreciate the process and stay open
  • Set a time limit and leave room for sharing at the end
    • We recommend 30–60 minutes for creating
    • Some guests finish fast, others love to daydream — build space for both
  • Put on a podcast or music to keep the vibe warm and relaxed
  • Have scrap bins ready for easy cleanup

To Do

Your step-by-step guide to building the perfect 2026 vision board:

  1. Lay out your cardboard, poster board, or foam board.
  2. Wrap it in fun paper if you want a decorative base.
  3. Flip through magazines and pull anything that sparks excitement or aligns with your “Inspire Questions.”
  4. Arrange your cutouts loosely.
  5. Rearrange until it feels like your vision.
  6. Secure everything with glue or tape.
  7. Write in any clarifying words, affirmations, or themes.
  8. Place your board somewhere visible for daily inspiration.
