With over two decades of floral industry mastery, Britlyn Simone has built a career rooted in curiosity, craftsmanship, and connection. As the founder and lead designer of Britlyn Simone Floral, her work is inventive yet grounded, always guided by nature and the emotional impact of flowers. That same philosophy carries into the way she hosts at home.
Britlyn’s gatherings often unfold outdoors, where guests are invited to wander the garden, pick edible blooms, and engage with their surroundings in unexpected ways. Hosting, for her, is not about perfection or formality but about creating space for people to slow down, connect, and experience beauty with all their senses. Whether it’s a thoughtfully composed tablescape or a cocktail garnished with petals from her own garden, every detail serves a deeper purpose: presence.
A: I always start with the occasion.
Everything flows from why people are gathering in the first place, which keeps the rest of the decisions grounded and purposeful.
A: We host most often in summer when the garden is in full bloom and we can entertain our guests outside. This naturally leads to impromptu garden tours, wandering around in search of unusual blooms and edible flowers. I find our guests love being involved in the garden, picking edible blooms to use as cocktail garnishes and colorful sprinkles to finish salads.
A: I would focus on a few stems of uncommon blooms to catch their attention. Something that perhaps your guests have never seen before like a unique orchid. Just a few uncommon flower stems have the ability to make an impact as big as a large statement arrangement, and spark a conversation too.

A: The company and the food. They both have to be intentional and of high quality to make a lasting impact that’s positive.
A: Quality time with friends is the best gift you can give and receive. You don’t have to have the exact perfect bottle of wine to pair with your entree. Your home doesn’t have to be perfectly spotless to invite guests over. The simple act of setting aside quality time to spend with the people dear to you is a priceless gift you can give and that your friends are eager to receive.
Place all ingredients into a cocktail shaker and shake well for 30 seconds. Pour over ice and garnish with a fresh slice of grapefruit, or grilled grapefruit if you’re grilling, and edible flower petals.
A: It all depends on the vibe of the party, the mood you’re trying to set, and the season in which you’re hosting.
A: This is such a nerdy answer, inviting guests to eat plants and flowers they had no idea were edible and seeing their faces light up when they try them. Feijoa blossom season is a favorite in our garden. The petals have an almost marshmallowy texture and a delicate taste like honey mixed with cinnamon.

A: My wedding. It was such a gift to be able to curate a multi-day experience with both pre and post wedding events for my closest friends and family in a magical, orchid-filled jungle setting at Hacienda Wakax. It was important to us that our guests have the time to relax and fully be present to spend extended time with one another, which is such a rarity in everyday life. It was such a joy to give my people the same gift I help create for my couples’ celebrations.
A: Unique blooms, soft linen napkins, and delicate stemware.
