Q: When planning a gathering in your home, where do you start? The menu, the decor, the occasion, the theme?

A: I always start with the occasion and theme. I love creating a sense of place, so when entertaining and hosting, I make sure that people feel that.

Q: Favorite ways to break the ice or entertain guests?

A: I always have a dedicated mixologist. Several types of festive drinks create great conversation and a bit of entertainment.

It is less about the drink itself and more about the experience around it. A mixologist adds movement, theater, and a natural gathering point. It gives guests something to talk about the second they arrive, which is hosting gold

Q: If you had a limited budget for a small dinner party, what would you focus on for the tablescape?

A: A beautiful table focal point. It can be candles you pull from your home, a vase of olive branches you foraged from your yard, or a decor piece that is usually on your mantle.

Q: What makes a great gathering memorable?

A: Good food and drinks, great conversation, and making people feel comfortable and welcome.

It sounds simple because it is. Memorable hosting is rarely about perfection. It is about how guests feel. Comfort, warmth, and ease are the real luxury.

Q: If someone feels overwhelmed by hosting, what tips would you give them?

A: Pull items from your home to enhance the tabletop decor, focus on good food and beverage, and create an inviting ambiance. Always make sure to have your favorite playlist on in the background.

Q: What is your signature dish when hosting?

A: My grandma’s famous Cheesy Potatoes. Simple but always a huge hit. Potatoes, cheddar cheese, sour cream, green onions, and butter. Lots of butter.

Q: What is your go-to dinner party playlist?

A: I created my own Spotify playlist with a friend, full of great mashups. I also enjoy Yacht Rock Radio or Chainsmokers Radio. I always want to create a fun vibe.

Q: What is your favorite party trick?

A: Work hard to ensure that when guests arrive, everything is set. Music is on, mixologist is ready, candles lit. You want to not only be a host, but a guest. Enjoy your company instead of working the entire time.

Q: Most memorable gathering you’ve hosted?

A: I hosted a 40th birthday party for my best friend in my backyard. Gorgeous tablescape, private chef, great entertainment, a mixologist, and a not planned but took full credit for fireworks show just above our heads during dessert. It was so magical and memorable.

Q: What are your favorite products or brands to use when hosting?

When it comes to tools of the trade, I definitely have my staples:
