Meet Cristina Viseu — a cookbook author, content creator, and natural host based in San Francisco, known for her cozy, design-forward dinner parties and beautifully curated home gatherings. Her style blends creativity, warmth, and thoughtful detail, making every event feel personal and inspired.
I always start with the theme. It sets the tone for everything—the decor, the menu, even the music. Once I have a theme in mind, I can begin to imagine how the space will feel and what kind of experience I want my guests to have. Whether it’s a moody candle-lit dinner or a light, cottagecore-inspired brunch, the theme becomes the thread that ties every detail together.
I love having an activity for my introverted girlies! It takes the pressure off small talk and gives everyone something fun to focus on. At one dinner, I hosted a butter tasting where we rated different French butters, and for my annual Galentine’s Day party, I set up a charm bracelet station. I find that little activities like these help guests connect naturally and make the night feel extra memorable.
Start small! I love intimate dinner parties for 4–6 people. They’re manageable and allow for real connection. Don’t be afraid to ask your guests to help, whether that’s bringing a dish or helping set the table. Hosting doesn’t have to be perfect; it’s about creating a warm, welcoming space where everyone feels comfortable.
I’m always a fan of a good snacking platter. A mix of olives, nuts, charcuterie, cheese, and crackers never fails. There’s really no wrong combination—it’s casual, inviting, and perfect for grazing while everyone settles in.
I also publish my recipes on my blog (Pretty Cozy Days) and on my YouTube if you ever need hosting help!

Mine is doing something super personal. I love adding a thoughtful twist that makes guests feel seen—like the time I hosted a Bridgerton-themed party and wrote all my friends into Lady Whistledown’s paper. Little details like that turn a gathering into something unforgettable.
That’s a hard one! But my recent favorite was my Butter Party. I actually flew French butter in from Paris, and we taste-tested and ranked them. I’ve also done a matcha party and love a good paint-and-sip. I’m currently pregnant as a first-time mom, so I’m excited to see how my parties evolve once kids are in the mix. I already have so many themed ideas brewing.
I LOVE my Le Creuset. It’s perfect for big stews and one-pot meals. All my knives are Wüsthof; I’ve had them for ten years, and they’re still in amazing condition. I recently upgraded to a pink set so they match my kitchen even more. For dinnerware, I adore my Wedgwood platters and Waterford glasses. I also keep a collection of smaller appetizer plates from brands like Lenox, Target, and Walmart. I think you can mix and match depending on your budget!
