Partytrick is thrilled to spotlight Lauren De Niro Pipher, whose hosting style reflects the same ease, curiosity, and charm that shape her life as Co-Founder of Juliet Wine. A constant traveler, aspiring writer, devoted Godmother, and crossword lover, Lauren brings a thoughtful yet unfussy approach to creating memorable moments. Her gatherings feel warm, intentional, and beautifully lived-in—never forced, always inviting. Keep reading to see how Lauren turns simple get-togethers into stories people remember.
I start with the theme, taking the season and occasion into account, then build the menu, design and playlist from there (in that order).

As the hostess, I am the icebreaker! I'll do my best to circulate, introduce people to one another with context, and then let the group connect naturally.
Start with a linen tablecloth—you can grab one on Etsy for very little. From there, extend the theme of the menu onto the table with seasonal fruits and vegetables. (Think artichokes, lemons, or tomatoes for Spring/Summer and smaller squash in Fall/Winter.)
If that’s too much to spend, place bunches of fresh herbs tied with raffia or ribbon around plenty of tea lights. Tea lights are inexpensive and they always do the trick.
Ironically, if there was so much joy and laughter that you can barely remember anything else.
Always play to your strengths! It will give you the confidence you need, which translates to comfort—which makes your guests feel at ease.
What I mean is—if you can make a great cocktail but can't roast a chicken to save your life, move your attention to an inventive bar with a signature cocktail and accompanying bar snacks. Then order reliable takeout (like Thai or Greek) instead of cooking.
I love a game of (handwritten) Head’s Up over dessert.
A royal wedding (someone else’s—I’m not hiding any crowns or tiaras).
I always have Juliet on hand, even for a formal meal. I’ll serve it alongside wines from France and Italy with a bit more age and honestly guests reach for our Sauvignon Blanc just as much as any expensive bottle on the table.
Other must-haves include good linens (I love Bed Threads) and some unique serveware mixed in with classics (Porta and Maison Balzac have beautiful selections).
