Host How I Host: Abigail Norman

Abigail Norman is a luxury wedding and brand content creator and the founder of Aglow Media Collective, a traveling content agency that co-creates alongside founders, leaders, dreamers, and lovers who care deeply about meaning, connection, and intentional storytelling.
Her work is inspired by the beauty God creates through people, purpose, and meaningful moments, bringing depth, warmth, and intention into every story she tells. Whether documenting a wedding day or elevating a brand’s visual identity, her heart remains the same: to create content that feels honest, grounded, and deeply intentional, with people always at the center.
Q: Where do you begin when planning a gathering?
A: I always begin with the theme because it sets the intentionality and purpose behind the gathering. The theme becomes the foundation that guides every decision from the color palette and tablescape to the food, flow, and overall atmosphere. Starting here ensures the gathering feels cohesive, thoughtful, and meaningful, rather than random or forced. When the theme is clear, every detail works together to create an experience that feels grounded, welcoming, and purposeful.

Q: How do you break the ice to entertain guests?
A: Board games, intentional check-ins where we share where we’re at in life, and mini activities like crafts or making our own cocktails and mocktails.
Q: What matters most for the tablescape on a budget?
A: The trusty staples that elevate every tablescape are drapes and candles. I’ll fill in with pieces that match the theme like plates in the right color but candles, drapery & mini florals always seal the deal.

Q: What makes a gathering unforgettable?
A: A gathering is memorable when it goes beyond just being an event and becomes a shared experience. It’s the intentional details whether it’s a thoughtful theme, a personal touch, or the feeling that everyone belonged in that moment.
Q: What would you tell someone stressed about hosting?
A: Keep it simple!! I’d remind them that hosting doesn’t have to be perfect to be meaningful. Start by choosing a simple intention for the gathering instead of trying to do everything and always ask for help if needed.

Q: Your go-to recipe?
A: I always have a charcuterie board ready when guests arrive—it’s always a hit, with a mix of meats, cheeses, and crackers.
Q: Your favorite party trick?
A: Always having a charcuterie board or welcome drinks ready when they walk in. Having a drink and a few bites is always the perfect way to start the evening as it elevates the experience.
Q: Most memorable gathering you’ve hosted?
A: The most memorable dinner party I hosted? Hands down, it was a Friendsmas. The color theme was dark red and ivory everywhere. I went all out, transformed my place into a high-end vibe with drapery and candles that set the mood. We had a private chef who absolutely killed it so no one had to stress about bringing anything.

Q: Dinner party soundtrack?
A: Jazz music all the way!! Saxophone or piano!!
Q: Favorite hosting brands?
A: I love renting taper holders and candles from Jaydene and Co Events and YA Modern Events. I love my drapes from Amazon!
Q: What do you love about Partytrick?
A: I love Partytrick because they bring on other hosts who share a passion for gatherings and dinner parties. Honestly, it’s a constant well of inspiration for when I host my own. Seeing how others create intentional, beautiful moments just sparks new ideas every time!
